As We Fulfill Fasting We Can As Well Establish Khilafah

Alhamdulillah we are in the holy month of Ramadhan blessed with an honored act of worship of Fasting observed in very few days. All Muslims fast after sighting the moon on 29th Shaaban or after 30days of shaaban. The glory of this worship is evident by the speech of Allah addressing his faithful servants

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous

[Surah Al-Baqarah: 183]

Dr Fadhil Samurai in Lamasat Bayaniyah explains the wisdom on how Allah addressed the believers on the obligation of fasting. He said “We find that our exalted lord said ‘O you who have believed and dint say ‘Oh Muhammad tell the believers’, indeed he addressed them directly on what he was calling them for showing the glories of an old great act of worship i.e. fasting which he made it obligatory to the other nations and that’s why he addressed it directly and not through an intermediary.

When we ponder on the act of worship of fasting we find lots of teachings which gives our bodies and hearts energy to carry on our duties which Allah has obligated us targeting his pleasures. It’s important to understand the goals of a Muslim’s action are to gain pleasures of Allah and not to seeking worldly benefits as it is the case of capitalist.

  • Impact obligation being undertaken by many

If we look carefully we will find that all Muslims are aware that Ramadan is the month of obligatory fasting. And around the world everyone fasts except those who have been excused legally. This has affected until Non-Muslims talking about Ramadan as the month in which Muslims are supposed to fast. Here is evident that when Muslims execute in large numbers any obligation all the people around the world recognize that worship. Often in any community if found in it many of those who do good, it is too easy to arrest the evil doers. Conversely a community which is full of evil doers then those who do good are taken by the evil of the bad ones. Today we live in a secular society as a clear example and we all have been secular Muslims! So if the obligation of conveying Allah's laws was fulfilled as we fulfill swaum then general opinion of the world's population would be on Islam. If we can affect the entire world to a worship of only one month what will happen if we all work together in implementing the obligation of calling for Khilafah and make the call an issue of life and death?

  • Unification of Muslims in enforcement of one obligatory is a possible thing

If we take a closer look we see that the Shia and the Sunnis agree on the obligation of fasting, and that Ramadhan is the only month of obligatory fasting. And fasting is to abstain from eating and drinking and not having sexual intercourse during the day of Ramadan, from dawn to dusk with a devotional intention. This interpretation is universal. All of them fast on a specific period in the month of Ramadan and none among them delay the implementation in other months. This means that despite the differences Muslims have on matters of some aspects in the religion or even the straddle some have of the creed, but when it binds to implementation of an obligatory act they implement it. So the idea that Muslims cannot hold together collaboratively in implementing the obligation of establishing the Khilafah on the grounds of the difference between them is not only a wrong presumption but cultivated by enemies of Islam. In fact, implementation of swaum is an important energy (driving force) to lead Muslims to implement other obligation. And which is the great obligatory today other than the establishment of Khilafah with which Islamic law can be implemented.

  • The Potential of Muslim Public abandoning dangerous Infidel notions

It is a fact that the implementation of Swaum reveals that the Muslim community still have a great opportunity to return to worshipping Allah by following His commands and stop his prohibitions. If Muslims can avoid what spoils their fast such as eating, drinking, and having sexual intercourse during the day in Ramadan, then they can as well refrain from democratic politics which are non-Islamic. How Can it be said that the Islamic Ummah cannot leave the dirty and dangerous systems such as democracy, while this same Ummah on the day of Ramadhan abstains from eating and drinking and it’s not by government decree but by the command of his Creator. What is needed is a serious effort be made to interact with Muslims in order to build and lift them emotionally and intellectually.

  • The Muslim Ummah still has Faith

Fasting for Muslims and entering mosques in big numbers during Ramadan is an indication that the Ummah still has life. Should never despair. And the assertion that Muslims today cannot fulfill the obligation to establish the Khilafah because they have no faith is a false claims and narrow thinking. But these claims are dangerous sabotaging Islam. Despite that those who claims that those who claim these they themselves few months before Ramadan reminds Muslims the obligation to fast and not 'build' faith first ...! Why don’t they forbid Muslims from fasting and build their Iman first? But in their confusion when the mother of all obligation is mentioned they are quick to say they have to build their faith first.... How do they judge?

These are just some of the teachings that we should all consider as we enter the holy month of Ramadan. We ask Allah to open the hearts of believers in this month so that they can have the energy to work restoring Islamic life by resumption of the Islamic state Al-Khilafah. Ameen
